Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub of the American is an actor, comedian, and activist. After emigrating to America her birthplace was in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents. Her career began as a child actor. From 2013 until 2016 she was the AT&T saleswoman Lily Adams, and since 2020, she has been the AT&T saleswoman Lily Adams. She rose to fame due to her appearances in TV commercials. In addition to commercial appearances, she was a series regular on the Yahoo! Screen science-fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She also had a regular role in the NBC drama This Is Us 2016-2017. After being featured in the TV pilot unaired for New Warriors, Vayntrub also voices Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rising. Vayntrub is an Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) native and is a Jew. Her parents, who were at the age of two, came to America as refugees from antisemitism. They settled in West Hollywood. Her family's financial difficulties led to her acting in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of 5. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School, however, she quit in her sophomore year. She earned a GED and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from University of California, San Diego. She was a part of the Upright Citizens Brigade, and studied the art of improv comedy.
